What is a septic riser?

A riser is a watertight vertical extension — usually heavy-duty plastic or concrete — that connects your buried tank lid to the surface, topped with a secure, child-resistant cover at grade level. Instead of probing and digging to find your tank every 3 to 5 years, the access point sits right there in the lawn, often nearly flush and easy to blend into landscaping.

3. Stack to grade. Sections are added until the top sits at (or just above) ground level.
4. Secure lid. A sturdy, lockable cover goes on top — safe around kids and pets, and it won't shift under a mower.
5. Restore the area. Soil backfilled and graded; many homeowners top-dress with grass seed or a discreet cover.
